Two artists, one from the north - People's Artist Quoc Hung (bass male voice), one from the south - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam (tenor voice), will stand together on a car decorated with colorful flags and flowers, moving with the parade through Le Duan Street. Both will perform a mashup of two immortal songs: "The Country Full of Joy" (musician Hoang Ha) and "The Color of Red Flowers" (musician Thuan Yen).
Sharing about his performance, People's Artist Quoc Hung could not hide his emotion: "To be able to sing with my respected brother - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam - in this sacred event is a great honor for me. Even more special, we were both awarded the title of People's Artist in 2019, and now we share the same mission, singing together in this historic moment of the nation."

Before the official National Celebration on the morning of April 30, People's Artist Quoc Hung and People's Artist Ta Minh Tam participated in the State-level rehearsal on the morning of April 27 on Le Duan Street.
People's Artist Quoc Hung emotionally said: “I woke up at 3am, and saw that Saigon seemed to have no night. People stood in the streets, carrying raincoats and mats to wait to watch the rehearsal. There were old men and women, veterans from all over the country gathered here. Witnessing that passionate patriotism, I could not hold back my tears.”
For People's Artist Quoc Hung, these moments have even deeper meaning as they are associated with the memory of his father - a revolutionary soldier who fought for more than 10 years at the Khe Sanh front, Quang Tri . He returned with many serious injuries and passed away at the age of 43, when Quoc Hung was only 13 years old.
“I chose to sing these songs to express my love to my parents - those who have silently sacrificed so that our generation can live in peace today,” he said.
The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a particularly important political event of national scale. The event is organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City.
The celebration includes many solemn activities: Air Force salute, drum performance, large-scale military parade, art program praising the homeland, country and the sacrifices of previous generations.
Having the honor of singing the opening song on this important day, People's Artist Quoc Hung considers it a priceless gift that he will carry with him for the rest of his life.
People's Artist Quoc Hung was born in 1970 in Dong Anh, Hanoi, and is active in two fields: performance and pedagogy. He has a special bass voice and is one of the leading opera and vocal singers in Vietnam. He won the First Prize at the National Chamber Music Competition in 2000 and the Golden Cup at the Pyongyang Spring International Music Festival (North Korea) in 2004.
He successfully defended his PhD thesis in music in 2017 and published a research paper on Training opera singers in Vietnam. Many of his students are familiar faces in the performing arts world today, such as Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung (First Prize of Sao Mai 2003), Meritorious Artist Truong Bac (Deputy Director of the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater), singer Quang Ha, singer Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, etc.
People's Artist Quoc Hung is also a member of the art council of many professional performances and prestigious professional art festivals in the country. On the other hand, he has also been successful in his role as general director of many large art programs celebrating important national holidays over the years. He is currently the Deputy Director in charge of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
