The Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano takes place from November 6 to 12, with the focus being on 3 days (November 8-9-10). Therefore, as part of the cultural promotion program, the Organizing Committee displays booths selling local specialties, not only contributing to enriching the experience of visitors but also contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural and economic values of the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Vice Chairman of Chu Pah District People's Committee - said: Of the 51 booths selling local specialties, including 44 booths from 14 communes and towns and the booths of the Department of Industry and Trade at the Week, all were visited and shopped by tourists.
The good news is that many products such as honey, pollen, coffee, bamboo shoots, dried bananas, bird's nests, rice wine, and herbal products that are good for health are of interest to many tourists and are chosen to buy.
Ms. Pham Thi Truc Quynh - Goods Manager of Yen Xuan Cao Nguyen Development Joint Stock Company (161 Le Duan, Phu Dong Ward, Pleiku City) said: The high-class bird's nest products on display at the booth are visited, purchased and ordered by many tourists. Yen Xuan Cao Nguyen brand is purchased from bird's nest farms in Gia Lai province and the Central Highlands provinces.
“The products displayed at the Week are expected to be promoted to everyone. I am very happy that Yen Xuan Cao Nguyen's booth was visited and shopped by many people. Yen Xuan Cao Nguyen has a variety of products with luxurious designs, very suitable for tourists to buy as gifts for relatives, family and friends. At the Week, the unit received 12 inquiries to order Yen Xuan Cao Nguyen products" - Ms. Quynh said.
Chu Dang Ya is not only famous for its volcanoes, but also for its beekeeping to produce wild sunflower honey. Wild sunflower honey was first displayed for sale at the Chu Pah District Youth Union's startup booth.
Ms. Chau Linh - a volunteer in charge of the booth - shared: Products such as wild sunflower pollen honey, macadamia, dried bamboo shoots... are all made by young people in the district. Among them, the product that many tourists buy is wild sunflower honey produced by business household Le Van Duc (born in 1996, village 4, Nghia Hung commune, Chu Pah district).
After trying the wild sunflower honey product, Ms. Le Thi Thao (Tan Son commune, Pleiku city) chose to buy honey as a gift for her relatives. Ms. Thao said: “The taste of wild sunflower honey is sweet and fragrant, very different from other types of honey such as coffee flowers, rubber flowers... After surveying a round of honey sold at the stalls, I really like wild sunflower honey because of its light sweet taste. Therefore, this is a meaningful gift that I bought as a gift and enjoyed to protect the health of myself and my family.”
The product “Mother Dung’s jar wine” is also sold at the agricultural products booth of Ha Tay commune, which attracts many visitors. Every day, Mother Dung’s jar wine is made by artisan Yet (Kon Po Nang village, Ha Tay commune).
According to artisan Yet, to make Mother Dung jar wine, the ingredients are taken from nature including: brown rice, fresh chili, and Hyam tree bark. Then, the yeast is also made from Hyam tree bark mixed with rice and fermented overnight. The wine is put into jars and fermented for 2 weeks, which will produce spicy but not harsh products, with a sweet and aromatic taste that is very pleasant and unforgettable when enjoyed.
Mr. Nguyen Phu Quy, a tourist from Hanoi, expressed: “I work in Gia Lai, and I came to visit the Week on this occasion. Due to work requirements, I often research the types of wine in the Central Highlands. I have known that Dung's mother's wine, made by artisan Yet, has been famous for a long time, but I have only now had the chance to enjoy it. It is true that the flavor of the forest yeast has a distinct difference, making the drinker feel elated, but the more you drink, the better it tastes, without any headaches. I am taking information to order about 100 jars each time to sell to domestic and foreign customers.”
The booth of the Central Highlands Institute of Health and Education these days is a "bridge" for OCOP product owners and cooperatives and business households in the province to send goods to the Institute to promote their products to suppliers to support output.
Dr. Phung Thi Kim Hue - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Central Highlands Institute for Health Research and Education Development - said: The Institute has an office at 73 Le Hong Phong, Pleiku City. Currently, the Institute is acting as a bridge to introduce local specialties to help businesses and production facilities promote their products to consumers. The Institute is currently supporting 60 products of 20 businesses and cooperatives in and outside the province. This is a necessary task to help farmers who produce products find a place in the market.
Ms. Vu Thi Hoa - owner of Huy Thuan deer farm (Xom Pot village, Ia Pia commune, Chu Prong district) is raising 100 deer to sell antlers. The farm also produces deer antlers soaked in honey to supplement iron, calcium, antioxidants, increase resistance, reduce fatigue, regenerate blood cells; deer antler wine...
“These products, which we sold at the Week, attracted many visitors. We are very happy that many products are made from deer antlers, which are fat-free and very good for health. After the Week, we continue to send products to the Institute to promote them to consumers,” said Ms. Hoa.
Talking to reporters, Vice Chairman of Chu Pah District People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thanh said: The good news is that the local specialties displayed at the Week are known to many tourists. "In the coming time, these products will continue to be the highlight in tourism events not only in Chu Dang Ya but also in events of the district, province, at home and abroad" - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh hopes.
