On the afternoon of February 7, the mothership Maersk Antares - the first vessel of the Gemini Cooperation operating on the TP6/WC1 service route - departed from CMIT port after safely and quickly loading and unloading nearly 11,000 TEU of cargo and empty containers with an impressive berth capacity of 172 containers/hour.

Maersk Antares departed CMIT Terminal after safely and quickly completing the loading and unloading of nearly 11,000 TEU of cargo and empty containers.

The Gemini partnership between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd officially took effect on February 1, 2025. Gemini aims to achieve over 90% schedule reliability when the network is fully operational. This places higher demands on ports to ensure faster cargo handling speeds, helping ships enter and leave ports on schedule.

With 14 years of operation, the strength of high and stable loading and unloading productivity as well as safe operation are the key factors that help CMIT continue to receive the trust of Maersk and Hapag Lloyd to choose Gemini as their home port in Southern Vietnam. Every week, Gemini deploys 2 mothership routes and 1 consolidation route at CMIT.

With the support of shareholders APM Terminals, VIMC and Saigon Port, CMIT port has recently invested and received a 7th shore crane to improve its operating capacity, increase loading and unloading productivity and better meet the growing needs of customers.

Currently, CMIT handles cargo for 8 weekly scheduled services connecting Vietnam with key markets including the Americas, Europe - Mediterranean, Middle East and Intra-Asia. With the support of Gemini and the world's leading shipping lines, CMIT is proud to continue to contribute to the overall development of Cai Mep deep-water gateway port and better serve the rapidly growing import-export market in Southern Vietnam.
