During the resistance war, the Party Committee of Cang Long district was always closely attached to the people, building solidarity between the army and the people like fish and water, the people followed the Party and stuck to the land to produce and feed the army, the cadres and soldiers trusted and relied on the people, fought with the people, forming a people's war posture.
Major General Le Xa Hoi, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, former Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 9, spoke at the meeting.
Closely combining the political struggle movement, military agitation with armed struggle, proactively attacking and destroying the posts to liberate hamlets and communes, winning step by step, partial victories leading to complete victory. On the night of April 29, 1975, our people and army simultaneously attacked the enemy's last base, destroying the posts and disintegrating the enemy's forces. On the morning of April 30, thousands of people rose up to seize power, mobilizing the puppet army and government to surrender to the revolution. At noon on April 30, 1975, Cang Long district was completely liberated along with the liberation of Tra Vinh province and the liberation of Saigon.
Comrade Tran Thi Bich Phuong, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Cang Long District Party Committee spoke at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Thi Bich Phuong said: Today's generation will forever remember the merits of the heroic martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, cadres, soldiers and people who have devoted everything to the cause of national liberation.
Comrade Nguyen Van Trieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of Cang Long District Party Committee, awarded the 55-year Party Badge to a senior Party member.
It is thanks to these noble sacrifices that today's generation has independence and freedom. Therefore, each person, through specific and practical actions, actively participates in the national movement to care for the families of war invalids, martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions by doing good deeds and doing many good things to support the heroic Vietnamese mothers, helping, visiting and encouraging families of policy beneficiaries and families of people with revolutionary contributions. This is a responsibility, an honor, and a great gratitude to the heroic martyrs and those who have contributed to the cause of national liberation and the liberation of the country.
Comrade Pham Van Tuan, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Cang Long District Party Committee, awarded the 45-year Party Badge to a senior Party member.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of Cang Long District Party Committee organized the awarding of Party Badges to 102 senior Party members. Of which, 60-year Party Badges were awarded to 02 Party members, 55-year Party Badges were awarded to 05 Party members, 50-year Party Badges were awarded to 10 Party members, 45-year Party Badges were awarded to 12 Party members, 40-year Party Badges were awarded to 25 Party members and 30-year Party Badges were awarded to 48 Party members.
Comrade Pham Van Trieu, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Cang Long District Party Committee, awarded the 40-year Party badge to a senior Party member.
On this occasion, the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cang Long district presented many gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids and sick soldiers to express gratitude for the great contributions of heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids and sick soldiers in the two long-term resistance wars.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Dien, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the District Party Committee, awarded the 40-year Party Badge to a senior Party member.
The District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 17 individuals with positive contributions to social security in the district and outstanding contributions to the implementation of political tasks of the Cang Long District Party Committee; awarded certificates of merit to 02 groups and 03 individuals who contributed funds to repair the "Memorial Stele" project where the first Party cell of Nhi Long Commune (now Nhi Long Phu Commune), Cang Long District was established.
Comrade Tran Thi Bich Phuong, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Cang Long District Party Committee, presented certificates of merit to individuals with positive contributions to implementing social security in the district and exemplary contributions to implementing political tasks of the Cang Long District Party Committee.
From the district's "For the Poor" Fund, 05 "Great Solidarity" houses were donated to households with difficult housing circumstances (each house worth 50 million VND). The Provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded 30 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to students with difficult circumstances in the district.
