Previously, in early April, Mrs. Tran Thi H. (95 years old, residing in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh), was taken by relatives to Ha Tinh General Hospital for treatment due to an old wound in the chest area that recurred and leaked fluid.

After examination and chest CT scan, doctors discovered that the patient had an abscess in the right lung with a foreign object in the chest area next to the spine penetrating the right lung.

Performing emergency surgery on the old woman, doctors removed the foreign object, a tree branch more than 20 cm long. After nearly a month of treatment, the patient's health has stabilized, the old woman can sit up and eat by herself. The patient is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

After surgery, the old lady's health is gradually stabilizing and she is preparing to be discharged from the hospital.

According to his relatives, in March 2023, while going to the garden, Mr. H. unfortunately fell into a bush and bled from the right chest area. His family took Mr. H. to many places for examination and treatment but no foreign object was found inside. After nearly 2 months of treatment, the wound dried and Mr. H. was able to walk on his own, but since then he has had a dull pain in his chest area.

It was not until early April, when the wound relapsed, that the family took him to the hospital and discovered a foreign object inside his chest, a tree branch more than 20 cm long.
