At the ceremony, the provincial leaders presented a letter of commendation from Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung and a certificate of merit from Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Chairman Pham Anh Tuan to Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grade IT student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Quy Nhon City). Thanh has just won a silver medal at the 2025 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

At the same time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu, Thanh's homeroom teacher and IT teacher for 3 years, was also awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee for her silent and persistent contributions in guiding students to achieve international achievements.
The 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, hosted by Uzbekistan, was held online on May 17-18, attracting 868 students from 42 countries and territories. The Vietnamese team won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals; ranked 5th overall, just behind the IT powerhouses of China, Russia, Japan and South Korea.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung said that winning the silver medal at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad is a great honor not only for Thanh and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, but also a source of pride for theeducation sector of Binh Dinh. This is a worthy result for the efforts of the teachers, the dedication of the teachers and the right investment of the locality in the key education sector.
According to Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and the era of artificial intelligence (AI) developing strongly, the fact that Binh Dinh students conquer the international arena in the field of information technology, a key and strategic field of study, is even more meaningful.
"Thanh not only affirms his own abilities but also spreads inspiration, fuels the desire to conquer knowledge and master science and technology for the young generation of Binh Dinh," Mr. Dung shared.
Not stopping at this achievement, Le Kien Thanh is also one of the Vietnamese students selected to participate in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025, scheduled to take place in Bolivia from July 27 to August 3.
Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung expressed his hope: "I hope that you will continue to strive, constantly train and pursue your dreams, contributing to promoting the tradition of studiousness and the spirit of overcoming difficulties of your hometown Binh Dinh to contribute to the prosperous development of your province and the country in the new era."
