Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao emphasized: In recent times, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard have focused on leading and directing the entire force to resolutely, comprehensively and synchronously deploy solutions to combat IUU fishing, thereby creating a clear change in the awareness, consciousness and responsibility of Party committees and commanders at all levels; mobilizing the participation of Party committees and local authorities; contributing to preventing and minimizing the situation of Vietnamese fishing vessels violating foreign waters and ensuring the sustainable development of Vietnam's fisheries industry.

In order for the peak emulation campaign to go into depth and achieve high efficiency, Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao requested that Party committees and commanders at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement Directive No. 32-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat (13th tenure) and leadership and direction documents at all levels on combating IUU fishing.

Strictly maintain the on-duty system at all levels, strengthen observation, detection, monitoring and supervision of 100% of fishing vessels operating in sea areas; innovate the content and form of propaganda on combating IUU fishing.

Proactively and regularly grasp the situation, promptly detect early, from a distance and forecast Vietnamese fishermen and fishing vessels intending to violate IUU regulations; strengthen cooperation and close coordination with law enforcement forces at sea of countries with sea routes bordering Vietnam in handling violating fishing vessels; ensure adequate and quality logistics, technical and financial work to carry out the task of combating IUU fishing...
