The conference was held in a combination of in-person and online formats to 11 locations across the force. Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Law of the Vietnam Coast Guard chaired the conference.

In recent times, the Vietnam Coast Guard has closely coordinated with joint forces and local coastal authorities to synchronously, comprehensively and resolutely deploy tasks and solutions to combat IUU fishing.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and proposing measures to effectively implement the peak period against IUU fishing.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Vu Trung Kien requested agencies and units to seriously grasp the instructions of all levels, organize the development of plans to continue implementing the peak period, and be determined to prevent and end the situation of fishing vessels violating IUU fishing before November 15.

Regularly inspect and urge ships to perform tasks at sea, promptly propagate, detect, prevent and handle high-risk ships; coordinate with coordinated forces to propagate and mobilize fishermen to raise awareness and strictly comply with legal regulations on combating IUU fishing.
