Fierce competition in the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Strong Teams

The best athletes from across the country have gathered in Phu Tho province to compete for the title at the National Table Tennis Championship and thereby find a place for themselves at the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.

On the evening of September 21, at Vinh Phuc Gymnasium, Vinh Phuc Ward, Phu Tho Province, the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Strong Teams took place. The Vietnam Table Tennis Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho Province to organize under the license of the Vietnam Sports Administration.

The tournament took place from September 19 to September 28, with the participation of 12 teams with nearly 130 excellent athletes from across the country, competing in 7 events. Among them were prominent names of the Vietnamese table tennis team in recent years such as: Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh, Le Dinh Duc...

Two tennis players Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (HCMC) and Nguyen Anh Tu ( Hanoi ) who just competed in a professional tournament in Kazakhstan are now in Phu Tho to compete in their events.

In last year's tournament, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh beat Tran Mai Ngoc (T&T People's Police) to win the gold medal in women's singles. In men's singles, Nguyen Anh Tu beat Nguyen Duc Tuan ( Hai Phong ) to retain the championship title.

The men's and women's team finals will take place at 2 p.m. on September 23. The doubles finals will take place at 7 p.m. on September 25. The men's and women's singles finals will take place on September 28.

The tournament not only aims to practically respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" to promote the movement of physical exercise in general and table tennis in particular, but is also an important occasion to select promising athletes to supplement the national team to prepare for regional and international tournaments.

It is expected that after the 2025 National Strong Team Championship, the Vietnamese table tennis team for the 33rd SEA Games will be established. The Vietnam Table Tennis Federation has built a list of 22 players, proposing the Vietnam Sports Department to approve the training plan to prepare for the SEA Games.
