In that list of golden achievements, the most prominent is the young face Vu Manh Huy - the successor of Vietnamese table tennis legend Vu Manh Cuong. At the age of 22, Manh Huy excellently won all 3 gold medals in all 3 events, affirming the courage and potential of a young player on the way to maturity.
What is more special is that Vu Manh Huy is the son of the head coach of CAND – T&T Club, the legendary former national player Vu Manh Cuong. In joy and pride, coach Vu Manh Cuong shared: “Huy participated in 3 events and won all of them. This achievement is the crystallization of his persistent training efforts and the close support of the coaching staff.
At the previous national tournament, Huy also won a few gold medals, and this is an encouraging start for a 22-year-old tennis player. Of course, to go further, he needs to continue to strive a lot."
He also revealed that since childhood, his son showed a love and talent for table tennis. Although he tried other sports , Manh Huy eventually stuck with and invested all his energy in table tennis - the sport that made his father famous.
Not only Manh Huy, this year's tournament also witnessed the remarkable growth of many other young faces in the CAND - T&T team. Coach Vu Manh Cuong expressed his impression of the players who initially did not play well in the qualifying round but then made a strong breakthrough to step up to the highest podium. He said that it was the effort, courage and spirit of not giving up that created that leap - a clear demonstration of the new vitality of the CAND - T&T table tennis training center.
Behind the continuous success of this table tennis team is the strong support from the leaders of the Police and T&T Group. The attention and investment, along with the increasingly experienced coaching team, have created a solid foundation for the athletes to be comprehensively trained.
A typical example of this effective combination is the case of Nguyen Van Tuan Anh, the U15 tennis player who won 3 gold medals at this tournament. Gradually maturing from the CAND training center, after being trained in the combined environment with T&T, Tuan Anh continuously reaped titles, even in the international arena.
Closing the tournament, Coach Vu Manh Cuong affirmed that the important upcoming goal is to guide talented young athletes to contribute to the national team, preparing for the SEA Games.
He emphasized: “The coaching staff will focus on nurturing promising faces, helping them achieve the best results, contributing to bringing glory to the Fatherland”. With the support of family tradition and a modern training environment, the young generation like Vu Manh Huy and Nguyen Van Tuan Anh promise to be the bright future of Vietnamese table tennis.
