Vietnam Canoe Team Won Gold Medal at Asian Championship

The precious gold medal came from the C4 Mix event, the Vietnamese team excellently overcame strong opponents from China and Kazakhstan to win an absolute victory. This victory not only affirmed the remarkable progress of Vietnamese canoeing but also made the whole of Asia admire. This precious medal belongs to 4 athletes: Pham Hong Quan, Bui Thi Yen, Ma Thi Thuy, Hien Nam. The gold medal won is also a worthy reward for their efforts in the past time.

In the C2 women's 1,000m event, the duo Nguyen Thi Huong and Nguyen Hong Thai competed steadfastly, only losing to the Chinese team and winning the silver medal, surpassing the North Korean team.

Meanwhile, in the C1 women's 500m event, rower Diep Thi Huong continued to shine with a silver medal, just behind the Chinese athlete and surpassing her opponent Kazakhstan. The third silver medal was won by rowers Diep Thi Huong and Nguyen Thi Huong in the C2 500m event.

The fourth silver medal in the C1 500m category went to rower Nguyen Hong Thai. And the remaining bronze medal was won by two athletes Nguyen Thi Huong - Diep Thi Huong in the C2, 200m category.

The impressive achievements at this tournament show the thorough investment and correct development strategy of Vietnamese canoeing. This is an important stepping stone towards major playgrounds such as Asiad and Olympics in the near future.

With a brave competitive spirit and constant efforts, the Vietnam Canoe team is gradually affirming its position in the continental arena, bringing pride to the country's sports .

Previously, the team had left for the tournament, with 5 coaches and 20 athletes led by Head of Delegation Duong Thi Hong Hanh, in charge of Rowing, Vietnam Sports Department.
