From today (May 19), the Ordinance on Management and Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site officially comes into effect (Ordinance).
Article 17 of the Ordinance states the contents of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Ceremony.
Clause 1, Article 17 states that the ceremony to pay respect to President Ho Chi Minh held at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum includes:
State-level visitation ceremony of the delegation attending the National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Visiting ceremony of high-ranking foreign guests according to the provisions of law on foreign protocol.
Regular visits by people and international guests.
According to Clause 2, Article 17, regular visiting ceremonies are held every week in the mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Visiting ceremonies are closed on Monday and Friday.
The following days, if they fall on Monday or Friday, will still hold regular funeral services:
Lunar New Year (January 1st of the lunar calendar);
Victory Day (April 30);
President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19);
National Day (September 2).
Article 17, Clause 4 stipulates that State-level funeral ceremonies are held on the following occasions:
Lunar New Year;
Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3);
Celebrate Victory Day (April 30);
Celebrating the 15th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7);
Celebrating President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19);
Commemoration of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27);
National Day (September 2);
National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam;
National Assembly session.
