These days, taking advantage of favorable weather, Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company is focusing on the construction of Bridge No. 1 of the Vung Ang - Bung Expressway project, Ha Tinh section. Bridge No. 1 is 942 m long, has 22 spans, crosses the valley terrain in Ky Hoa commune, Ky Anh town, and was officially started in February 2023.
After nearly two and a half years of construction on difficult terrain and heavily affected by the weather, the contractor has completed the installation of 19 bridge spans.
The contractor is working hard to connect the last two spans of the bridge. At the same time, they are focusing on completing the railing system and continuous thermal panels before proceeding to asphalt concrete paving the bridge deck. The construction volume of bridge No. 1 has reached 93% of the plan so far.
Despite all the efforts, due to the large remaining construction volume, bridge item number 1 will almost certainly not be completed by June 30.
“The unit is trying to complete the installation of the remaining two spans by the end of June. Completing the entire construction will take some more time,” said engineer Hoang Minh Son, Commander of Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company.
Due to the terrain and bridge project characteristics, work can only be carried out during the day, making it difficult to work overtime at night to ensure labor safety.
Meanwhile, the Deo But tunnel project undertaken by Son Hai Group is also being completed.
Up to now, the right tunnel has completed the concrete pavement, installation of mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, and tunnel lining painting. The contractor committed to completing the construction of the right tunnel by the end of June.
The Vung Ang - Bung expressway is 55.34 km long, passing through two provinces: Ha Tinh (12.9 km) and Quang Binh - now Quang Tri (42.44 km), with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 12C, connecting with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province and the end point in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Tri province, connecting with Bung - Van Ninh expressway. The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction). The project is divided into 2 construction packages, of which, construction package XL01 is undertaken by Son Hai Group - Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation - Joint Stock Company 484 - Joint Stock Company 369 - Joint Stock Company 479 Hoa Binh, while Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Lizen Joint Stock Company undertakes construction package XL02. The section through Ha Tinh belongs to construction package XL01. At the investment phase, the expressway has 4 lanes, no emergency lane, and a number of emergency stops are arranged every 4-5km with a roadbed width of 17m and a design speed of 60-90 km/h.
On the 12.9 km route through Ky Anh district and Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province, except for bridge No. 1 constructed by Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company, other items on the route have been basically completed.
On many sections, contractors have painted road markings...
...installation of hard dividers, anti-glare nets, guardrails and traffic signs.
According to plan, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway will be completed and put into operation on June 30.
According to information from Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction), up to now, the project's construction output has reached over 94% of the construction value, slower than the set plan. There are still some unfinished items on the route. The project site in the section passing through Quang Tri province (formerly Quang Binh) has not yet been 100% handed over.
Thus, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway cannot be opened and put into operation by the end of June 30 as planned by the Ministry of Construction. Video: Vung Ang - Bung Expressway section through Ha Tinh.
