The workshop aims to enhance professional exchange activities with orthopedic trauma experts to update new knowledge on prevention and treatment of infection after artificial joint replacement.

Speaking at the workshop, Major General, Dr. Le Quang Tri, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, said that artificial joint replacement is one of the great achievements of modern medicine, bringing a better quality of life to millions of patients. Today, most hospitals are capable of performing this technique. However, infection after joint replacement is still one of the serious complications, greatly affecting treatment results, medical costs and especially the health and psychology of patients.
The workshop was organized with the aim of updating knowledge, sharing practical experiences in prevention and selecting optimal treatment strategies for infections after joint replacement. This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese medical team in general and Military Hospital 175 in particular to learn, exchange and access advanced advances from the world's leading joint surgery centers.

The workshop took place with the following reports:
- Biomechanical changes after hip replacement (BS-CK1 Le Trung Hieu, Department of Lower Limb - Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics, Military Hospital 175);
- Prevention of infection in artificial joint replacement (Professor Thorsten Gehrke, Medical Director of Helios ENDO - Klinik Hamburg, Federal Republic of Germany);
- Biofilm: formation and treatment (Prof. Thorsten Gehrke);
- Effectiveness of using 2-phase strategy in treating infection after joint replacement (BS-CK1 Nguyen Duc Tho, Department of Lower Limb - Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics, Military Hospital 175);
- Bacteriological map at Military Hospital 175, antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance characteristics in orthopedic trauma (MSc. Le Thuy Duong, Head of Microbiology Department, Military Hospital 175);
- Update on antibiotics for treating infections caused by multi-resistant and difficult-to-treat Pseudomonas Aegurinosa (MSc. Le Trung Lam, Head of Clinical Pharmacy Department, Military Hospital 175).
