Hundreds of scientific studies discuss infections in orthopedic trauma

Nearly 200 scientific reports in the field of orthopedic trauma were presented and discussed by experts at the scientific conference with the theme 'Infection in orthopedic trauma', held in Can Tho.

On October 25, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam Orthopedic Association (VOA) in collaboration with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy chaired the official report of the 22nd annual scientific conference (VOA 2025) with the theme "Infection in orthopedic trauma: past, present and future".

The conference gathered nearly 200 scientific reports and was divided into 7 specialized reporting halls. Doctors, nurses and technicians in the field of orthopedic trauma exchanged and shared experiences, updated new professional and technical advances. Thereby improving the effectiveness in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for patients.

Professor - Doctor Nguyen Trung Kien, Principal of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that infection in orthopedic trauma is a practical topic that receives much attention. Because, infection in surgery is always the top challenge, directly affecting the treatment results and the quality of life of patients.

With hundreds of in-depth reports, the conference is a prestigious scientific forum for experts to exchange, open up research directions and practical solutions to enhance the control of genetic factors, innovate treatment methods and optimize safe surgical procedures. It is more meaningful when the conference is held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Orthopedic Trauma Association (2005-2025), which is gradually developing, integrating and reaching international level.

The conference aims to update new advances in the field of orthopedic trauma.

Previously, on October 24, the conference opened a continuing education (CME) course, including 3 specialized surgeries: arthroscopic shoulder rotator cuff repair, cruciate ligament reconstruction, and total hip replacement. The surgeries were performed under the guidance and support of leading experts at home and abroad, creating a valuable opportunity for students to update modern techniques and improve their clinical practice skills.
