On December 11th, the Soc Son Commune Health Station ( Hanoi City) held a conference to implement digital transformation in medical examination, treatment, and public health management in the area.
At the conference, Dr. Le Duc Tuyen, Head of the Soc Son Commune Health Station, stated that the Soc Son Commune Health Station currently has 4 departments, 1 multi-specialty clinic, and 6 health station locations. Simultaneously, it collaborates with Soc Son General Hospital to effectively manage all healthcare activities in the commune, meeting the increasing demand for medical examination, treatment, and healthcare services from the local population.
Regarding medical examination and treatment, the station maintains a good family doctor model, with an average of 140-180 patients per day; the average number of people visiting the health station for examination and treatment is 40-50 per day. In addition, the station is managing 7,701 hypertension patients, of which 6,473 are receiving treatment; managing 2,912 diabetes patients, of which 1,322 are receiving treatment; and managing and treating 63 tuberculosis patients…

In particular, the Soc Son Commune Health Station is stepping up its digital transformation efforts in medical examination and treatment, applying an electronic medical examination and treatment management system: receiving patients for examination and treatment, ordering paraclinical tests, and prescribing medication electronically.
Currently, 100% of patients in the area receive electronic prescriptions, linked to the national prescription data system; automated kiosks for receiving and treating patients are operated using chip-embedded citizen ID cards, so when people come for examination, they only need to bring their citizen ID card to be admitted for examination and treatment, or it is integrated into the VssID, VneID applications, etc. 100% digital signatures are used for professional medical documents such as clinical order forms, results, prescriptions, expense statements, and procedures related to health insurance and social insurance.
In addition, the station is also conducting trials of the RIS-PAC system, which is a Diagnostic Imaging Information System (RIS) and a Digital Image Archiving and Communication System (PACS); generating statistical reports and reports on epidemic prevention and control electronically; upgrading the entire network system, increasing internet speed, and upgrading computers to ensure the foundational system for digital healthcare operations. Simultaneously, the station is preparing the platform for deploying electronic medical records (EMR) to replace paper records.
Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, emphasized: Primary healthcare is the closest healthcare network to the people, the frontline in protecting and caring for community health. Recognizing this importance, the Soc Son Commune Health Station has proactively undergone digital transformation, updated electronic health records, and applied information technology in managing medical examinations and treatments, contributing to improving service quality and reducing the burden on higher-level facilities.

Currently, the Hanoi health sector is developing a "Digital Health Station" model, considered a strategic and groundbreaking step that contributes to improving the capacity of primary healthcare facilities and comprehensively and sustainably modernizing the healthcare system. This model is not simply about applying information technology, but rather a modern healthcare management system that closely connects primary healthcare facilities with higher-level hospitals and other medical centers, providing convenient benefits for the people.
Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung suggested that, in the coming time, the Soc Son Commune Health Station needs to be more proactive and positive in implementing digital transformation in medical examination and treatment, meeting the general trend of the entire Hanoi health sector; at the same time, the Soc Son Commune People's Committee should pay more attention to directing and investing in the application of information technology and digital transformation in healthcare.
