On the morning of November 7, questioning the Minister of Public Security , delegate Do Huy Khanh (Dong Nai delegation) emphasized that in recent times, voters and people across the country have highly appreciated the role of the police force in investigating and preventing corruption crimes.

“So what is the Minister’s solution in continuing to investigate corruption cases in the coming time to ensure the criteria: not letting criminals escape, at the same time not wrongfully convicting innocent people and affirming the consistent direction of the Central Committee as well as of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. That is, there are no forbidden zones, no exceptions, handling one case is a warning to the whole region, a field?”, the delegate questioned.

Regarding this content, Minister of Public Security To Lam said that the police sector has implemented exemplary leadership in all three aspects: detecting, investigating and handling negative corruption cases; fighting negative corruption, cleaning up the internal affairs of the police force; reforming administrative procedures, governing society by law but still creating favorable conditions for people and businesses, not causing harassment or difficulties.

With the administrative procedure reform of Project 06, Minister To Lam said that this has significantly reduced petty corruption. This is a pressing issue for voters, because if there is no direct contact, there will be no conditions for petty corruption.

Accordingly, the investigation, decision, prosecution and strict trial of corruption cases with the viewpoint of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, no privileges" have been well implemented.

From there, it can warn, deter, prevent violations, and recover many assets for the State in the fight against corruption, not allowing subjects to escape abroad or dare to escape abroad.

According to Mr. Lam, that result contributes to promoting the movement to prevent negativity, becoming an irreversible trend.

Regarding solutions to improve the effectiveness of this work, Minister To Lam said that it is necessary to focus on perfecting institutions and improving the effectiveness of State management in all fields, not leaving any loopholes or shortcomings for criminals to take advantage of and commit crimes. Any remaining loopholes or shortcomings need to be pointed out and resolved immediately.

He cited recent examples in which agencies have proposed many measures in the fields of financial management, credit, securities, corporate bonds, vehicle registration, anti-smuggling, etc. Through recent real cases, many of these regulations have been revised and adjusted.

"The Ministry of Public Security directed the review and addition of regulations to control power, especially the heads of local ministries and branches, with specific regulations and strong sanctions to cut off backdoor business relationships, not allowing the formation of subjects that can manipulate many agencies like some cases that happened such as Viet A, rescue flights...", the Minister stated.

Asset recovery is of utmost importance.

Regarding the handling of subjects, Minister To Lam said that currently the two main crimes being handled with the embezzlement and corruption group are the crime of embezzlement of property, which means stealing state and people's property to make it one's own property. This is the nature of the crime of embezzlement of property. The second crime is bribery and accepting bribes.

“We have not arrested any related subjects who did not receive money, so it is not right to say that wherever there is a case of excessive punishment, officials are afraid to do anything. Because it is not the crime of Abusing power but the crime of Accepting bribes. The people are very sympathetic to that,” said Mr. Lam.

The Minister also informed that in some recent cases, the number of victims was very large, so the recovery of assets is extremely important. Because the fight against corruption requires recovering assets for the state and the people.

Therefore, the Minister of Public Security believes that this work needs to continue, closely following the discovery of asset seizure and declaration, to prevent subjects from dissipating assets .
