The National Assembly approved the dismissal of Mr. To Lam from the position of Minister of Public Security.

According to the personnel work program, yesterday afternoon, May 21, the Prime Minister submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to approve the dismissal of Mr. To Lam from the position of Minister of Public Security .

This morning, May 22, the National Assembly approved the dismissal of the Minister of Public Security by secret ballot.

Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that the National Assembly voted in favor of passing the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss the Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term with 465/465 delegates voting in favor (accounting for 95.48% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

Earlier this morning, the National Assembly completed the process of electing General To Lam to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.
