Cat Tien district has begun supporting 13 farming households in Cat Tien town to renovate their gardens and mixed gardens, and switch to growing fruit trees with higher economic value, with a support level of 5 million VND/ha.
Of which, 9 households converted 30,130 m2 to grow Ri6 and Mongthong durian varieties; 2 households grew 15,700 m2 of mangosteen; 1 household grew 2,000 m2 of coconut; 1 household grew 1,500 m2 of Thai rambutan.
These are households with vacant garden areas or mixed gardens or cultivating crops with low economic value and no competitive advantage such as sugarcane, cashew, cassava, etc., so they need to convert to planting new fruit trees mentioned above.
Specifically, 1 household converted the largest area with 13,000 m2 to grow mangosteen; 4 households converted the smallest area with each household converting 1,500 m2 to grow coconut, rambutan, durian, mangosteen...
