Quang Ninh's education quality continues to make its mark

Over the past years, along with rapid, strong, sustainable economic and social development, Quang Ninh has always paid special attention to education and training. With the care of the province, the Quang Ninh Education sector has continuously improved the quality of training, raising the level of education in the province both domestically and internationally.

It can be said that in the fieldof education alone, Quang Ninh has issued many mechanisms and policies, allocating investment resources from school facilities, teaching equipment, smart classrooms, promoting the application of science and technology, information technology, to exempting tuition fees, improving the quality of boarding meals for students... Quang Ninh identifies education as the top national policy, improving the quality of education is also improving human resources, especially high-quality human resources, serving the sustainable development of the province.

As a testament to the achievements from the province's attention and care for education, recently, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 1278/QD-BGDDT on recognizing Quang Ninh province as meeting the standards for universal primary education level 3 and universal lower secondary education level 3 by December 2024.

Provincial leaders presented the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training announcing that Quang Ninh province has met the standards for universal primary and secondary education level 3 to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training.

With this Decision, Quang Ninh province has become one of the 10 provinces and cities that have achieved the highest standards of universal primary education, universal lower secondary education, universal preschool education and illiteracy eradication. This is an important criterion reflecting the quality of education and training in the locality as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, affirming the joint efforts of the entire political system and the education sector in organizing the network of schools and classes and ensuring the best learning conditions, especially in remote, mountainous, border and island areas.

The joy was multiplied when in Decision No. 523/QD-CTN of the President dated April 18, 2025 on awarding the Labor Medal, Quang Ninh had 5 collectives and 2 individuals awarded for their outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. In particular, Trong Diem Secondary School (Ha Long City), Tran Hung Dao Primary School (Ha Long City) received the First Class Labor Medal; Nguyen Binh High School (under the Department of Education and Training) received the Second Class Labor Medal; Dong Ngu Primary School (Tien Yen District), Bai Chay Secondary School (Ha Long City), teacher Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Principal of Bai Chay Kindergarten (Ha Long City), teacher Dong Thi Thanh Huong, Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School (Ha Long City) received the Third Class Labor Medal. This is a noble award of the Party and State to recognize and honor the contributions, dedication, intelligence, and tireless efforts to the education cause of 7 collectives and individual teachers of Quang Ninh province.

Over the years, Quang Ninh has continuously paid attention to investing and caring for education and training.

In the international competition, Quang Ninh is honored to have 2 students from Ha Long High School for the Gifted participating in the 2025 International Regional Olympic Competition. Among them, Trinh Viet Hoang, class 12 Chemistry, is one of 4 representatives from Vietnam participating in the Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad. In the field of information technology, Ninh Quang Thang, class 12 IT, Ha Long High School for the Gifted participates in the Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad Team. Having students participating in the regional and international Olympic competitions continues to affirm the brand and quality of key education of Quang Ninh in general, and Ha Long High School for the Gifted in particular.

Currently, the Quang Ninh Education sector is focusing on two important exams: the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year and the 2025 high school graduation exam with the determination to achieve higher results than the previous school year. In recent years, the average high school graduation exam scores of Quang Ninh students have made remarkable progress. In 2024, Quang Ninh ranked 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 25 places compared to 2020 - the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress.

The proud results that the Quang Ninh Education sector has achieved in recent times once again affirm the right direction and the province's care and attention to the cause of educating people. Thereby, Quang Ninh is determined to strive to be among the top 15 provinces and cities in the country in terms of level and quality of education and training development by 2030 at the latest.
