ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, is the latest trend on social media and is gaining attention for its incredible capabilities. It is known for its ability to provide detailed answers to historical arguments for poems about cryptocurrencies.
Since ChatGPT launched last November, a number of Internet users have shared their conversations with the chatbot.
As the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues with no signs of stopping, and a diplomatic solution seems far away, former Indian foreign secretary and writer Vikas Swarup has jumped on the hottest trend on social media: Asking an AI chatbot to come up with a plan for Russia-Ukraine reconciliation.
While ChatGPT acknowledges that finding a mutually acceptable solution to the Russia -Ukraine conflict is a challenge, it does suggest a possible eight-point solution.
In a Twitter post on March 5, Mr. Swarup – whose first novel was adapted into the Oscar-winning film “Slumdog Millionaire” – shared the ChatGPT solution he received.

In its peace proposal, ChatGPT argues that talks between the leaders of the two countries should be the first step toward resolving the conflict. It suggests that the talks should aim to find common ground and establish a framework for future cooperation. And to do that, both sides must agree to an immediate ceasefire, withdraw troops from the conflict zone, and establish a demilitarized zone along the border.
The chatbot also suggested that international monitoring of the implementation of the agreements reached during the negotiations is needed. It also called for economic support from global financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to help stabilize the Ukrainian economy.
Reacting to Mr. Swarup’s Twitter post, Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Chairman of the Indian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, said that the Indian writer’s initiative was interesting, but “in conflicts, leaders are irrational in ways that are beyond the understanding of AI.”
“In this particular case, I can think of some objections from both sides to ChatGPT’s solution. But it was a great experiment,” Tharoor added.
Russia launched a "special military operation" in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the fiercest war on the European continent since World War II .
