Chau Thanh summarizes phase 1 of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Delegates of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in communes spoke at the conference.

According to the District Steering Committee's Plan, the total number of households in the district needing housing support: 210 households, including 138 newly built households and 72 repaired households (in which, according to Decision No. 781/QD-UBND dated March 13, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, the total number of households in the district needing housing support: 160 households, including 93 newly built households and 67 repaired households), divided into 2 implementation phases. Phase 1: includes 72 households, of which 40 newly built households and 32 repaired households. Phase 2: includes 138 households, of which 98 newly built households and 40 repaired households.

Accordingly, by May 6, 2025, phase 1 had started construction of 69/72 units (including 39 newly built units, 30 repaired units), of which: 45/69 units were completed; 6/69 units were in the roofing stage; 14/69 units were in the wall framing stage; 4/69 units were in the foundation stage; and 3 units of phase 1 had not yet started construction.

Phase 2 mobilized and started construction, completed and put into use 5/138 houses, including 4/5 houses under Decision No. 781/QD-UBND dated March 13, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, with a total cost of 0.3 billion VND.

At the conference, delegates from communes and sectors focused on discussing and assessing the advantages and difficulties in the implementation of the program in phase 1; mobilizing social resources in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; mobilizing union members in coordinating with sectors and localities to implement the program; reviewing the supported subjects; the disbursement of funds in phase 1; the implementation of the program in phase 2, etc.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Steering Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee Phan Song Toan highly appreciated and commended the sense of responsibility and efforts of the members of the Steering Committee of the district, communes, departments, branches, and organizations of the district and the companionship of the people and businesses in the process of implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in phase 1.

To effectively implement phase 2 and complete it before June 10, 2025, Secretary of the District Party Committee Phan Song Toan - Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district requested the Steering Committees of communes and towns to urgently direct the Teams to support labor days to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to support disadvantaged households to speed up the progress of completing the remaining houses of phase 1; Direct the People's Committees of communes and towns to focus on speeding up the progress of disbursing funds to households; complete the settlement records of houses in phase 01 to ensure compliance with regulations according to instructions. Continue to direct the resolution of difficulties in land for construction for households with housing difficulties in the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 2672-CV/VPTU, dated April 9, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee Office.

Mobilize households in phase 2 on the approved list, when ensuring the conditions, to organize construction commencement before May 12, 2025.

Members of the District Steering Committee are assigned to support communes, towns and the Steering Committee's Working Group to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district, coordinate with the Steering Committees of communes and towns to resolve land difficulties, speed up the construction progress to complete the remaining houses of phase 1 and simultaneously start construction of new houses and repair houses in phase 2 to complete before June 10, 2025.

The Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses of the district presented decisions to donate houses and gifts to households.

At the conference, the Steering Committee implemented the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the district awarded decisions on house donation (for new construction); decisions on recognition of completion of house repair (for repair cases) and gifts to households.
