Digital transformation improves efficiency in the energy industry

BDK.VN - According to the Provincial People's Committee, by the end of April 2025, digital transformation activities in the province have been deployed and applied well, thereby improving efficiency in the energy sector and the national program on developing smart energy infrastructure such as: using remote control monitoring systems to monitor operating parameters and equipment on/off operations; remotely monitoring and controlling equipment at 9/9 110kV stations and unmanned operation at 110kV transformer stations.

In addition, the province recorded a 100% electronic rate of electricity meters by early 2025. The province's commercial electricity output in the first quarter of 2025 reached 500 million kWh, an increase of 2.88% over the same period (486 million kWh). The rate of households using electricity is estimated at 99.98%. Currently, the province has 02 220kV transformer stations with a capacity of 625 MVA (Ben Tre 220kV station 2x250 MVA and Mo Cay 220kV station 1x125 MVA).

The province has made great efforts to focus on supporting the development of renewable energy projects. Up to now, the province has 22 approved wind power projects, including 19 projects approved in the Power Plan VII (1,007 MW) and 3 projects approved in the Power Plan VIII Implementation Plan (93 MW). Currently, 9 projects have completed the installation of turbines with a capacity of about 365.9 MW. The total grid-connected capacity is 250.75/365.9 MW.
