The content of Dong Khoi Newspaper in the period 1986 - 1995 has been strongly renewed compared to before. Information is more diverse and multi-dimensional. The main stream in the newspaper is still current events, economics, politics, culture, society in the spirit of comprehensive renewal. Content sections on readers' voices, topics against negativity, corruption, waste are clearly concerned, along with articles on Party building and building a rule-of-law State are carried out regularly.

Since 1988, the newspaper has had an additional Dong Khoi Saturday edition, specializing in cultural and artistic content, published until 2000 when it was discontinued. From January 2010, from 2 issues/week, the newspaper published 3 issues/week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, increasing from 8 pages to 12 pages. The average circulation is 5,000 copies/issue.

From time to time, from year to year, the Editorial Board regularly changes to upgrade the content and form of the newspaper, replaces some new pages and columns to suit the reality and needs of readers, and uses a variety of press genres to convey information to readers. Most importantly, Dong Khoi Newspaper always adheres to the political tasks of the Party Committee, delving into the practical life. The newspaper has reported articles, reflecting vividly, accurately and promptly the current issues of the province.

In 2007, Dong Khoi Newspaper established an electronic news portal, becoming one of the first provincial press agencies in the Mekong Delta region to have an electronic news portal. By 2018, implementing the plan to innovate the content and format of the newspaper, the electronic news portal was upgraded to an electronic newspaper.

In 2019, Dong Khoi Newspaper launched a newspaper reading application on the App store and Google Play. The newspaper exploits multimedia press products, with video and audio editions, and AI applications to read audio news.

The team of reporters, editors, technicians, together with the Board of Directors of Dong Khoi Newspaper, constantly study, innovate, improve their qualifications and professional skills to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new context - the digital technology era. Currently, the equipment and techniques of reporters and technicians such as: recording, cameras, smartphones with Internet connection are more complete. In addition, the newspaper has effectively applied social networking in exchanging information, communicating with the Editorial Board, management staff and the editorial office, helping to bring information to readers quickly and promptly. Reporters are confident in the process of working at important events of the province. Most of them have products right on the scene to update hot on the electronic newspaper.

The strong development of information technology has opened up countless opportunities as well as challenges for the Vietnamese press in general and Ben Tre in particular. In the current context, when the whole world is entering the fourth industrial revolution, the press, along with all professions in society, are making changes to adapt to the times.

In an open media environment, the press team is free to create new media products, diverse in form and rich in content. Multimedia press products are born - press works, including: text, photos, videos, animations, audio files, graphic elements designed in a completely new way. Major changes in the way readers receive information force the press to face profound changes. The collective of managers, editors, reporters, and employees of Dong Khoi Newspaper constantly learn, actively entering a new era of the country.
