At around 3:20 a.m. on April 28, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center (Switchboard 114) received a fire report at house number 87a, alley 99/110/85 Dinh Cong Ha, Dinh Cong ward, Hoang Mai district.

Immediately, the City Police mobilized 7 specialized vehicles along with officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to the scene, coordinating with local authorities, Dinh Cong Ward Police and people to organize fire fighting.

City Police leaders were also present at the scene to direct fire fighting and rescue work.

At the time the fire was discovered, it broke out on the 2nd floor and quickly spread to the 3rd floor.

The house on fire is located deep in the alley, about 30m from the road, causing many obstacles for authorities in accessing and carrying out rescue operations.

The authorities quickly deployed a fire fighting plan, promptly rescued one injured person, brought him out safely and transferred him to Bach Mai Hospital for emergency treatment.

At 3:46 a.m., the fire was basically under control, but authorities discovered three victims had died.

Currently, the Director of Hanoi City Police has directed units to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire; at the same time, coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to visit and encourage the families of the victims, and support in overcoming the consequences of the incident.
