Spending 17 billion VND to save the national relic Hon Vong Phu

The project is invested 17 billion VND to urgently reinforce the degraded Hon Vong Phu, which is at risk of collapsing at any time. The decision also requires the project to be completed before December 31, 2025.

The approved reinforcement plan is to drill cores and then reinforce with steel fibers and insert Sika Grout 214-11 mortar vertically to keep the rock block (Hon Vong Phu) from separating. At the same time, use steel anchors with a tensile capacity of more than 21 tons pulled from the top of Hon Vong Phu down to the base to hold the rock block firmly...

Hon Vong Phu is a stone pillar about 20 m high, currently tilted from the vertical by more than 10 degrees to the east due to repeated lightning strikes (in 2022 and 2023) that caused the stone to peel off, causing a landslide of a 1 x 3 m block of stone in the west and a 2.5 x 3 m block of stone in the east ( Thanh Nien reported). In early 2024, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City invested more than 800 million VND to install a lightning protection system.

The national relic complex of art and landscape of An Hoach mountain was recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1992, including: Thuong Communal House, Hinh Son Pagoda, Quan Thanh Pagoda, Tomb of Man Quan Cong Le Trung Nghia and Hon Vong Phu.
