On the morning of May 21, Sohu newspaper reported that actress Zhou Yuanyuan suddenly passed away at the age of 51 due to cancer.

The above information was confirmed by her husband - Tan Bach Thanh. On behalf of the family, he posted an obituary, announcing the sad news to the public via his personal Weibo.

According to the obituary, Chu Vien Vien breathed her last at 11:39 a.m. on May 17 after nearly 5 years of fighting cancer. During her entire fight against the disease, she never became pessimistic or gave up, but always maintained an optimistic and positive spirit.

Tan Bach Thanh said the actress passed away peacefully and serenely in the arms of her loved ones. Respecting her wishes, the family decided to hold a simple, private funeral.

Zhou Yuanyuan was born on March 18, 1974 in Qingdao city, Shandong province, China.
