In just two days, Vietnam will set a new record for the commencement of construction projects worth 3.4 trillion VND.

On December 19th, the Olympic sports urban area, the Red River landscaped boulevard, and a series of other projects will be inaugurated and commenced. The total investment exceeds 3.4 trillion VND.

These are some typical projects participating in the groundbreaking, inauguration, and technical opening ceremonies of projects and works to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to the Ministry of Construction , as of December 14th, 234 construction projects in 34 provinces and cities have met the conditions for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening to traffic. Of these, 148 projects have commenced construction, and 86 projects have been inaugurated and technically opened to traffic.

These include 38 projects from ministries and government agencies; 39 projects from corporations and conglomerates; and 157 projects from local authorities.

The total investment for projects and works is over 3.4 million billion VND (of which state capital in 96 projects is over 627,000 billion VND, accounting for 18%, and 138 projects from other capital sources is over 2.79 million billion VND, accounting for 82%).

The groundbreaking, inauguration, and technical opening ceremonies for the projects and works will be held on December 19th in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation via video conference. From 234 projects and works, the Ministry of Construction has proposed 79 connection points (12 in-person and 67 online video conference points), symbolizing the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025).

Some important events included the Olympic Sports Urban Area construction project (Thuong Phuc commune, Hanoi ); the inauguration of several projects and the launch of the first flight under the Long Thanh International Airport construction project - phase 1; and the groundbreaking ceremony for component 1 of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line construction project.

In addition, there were also groundbreaking ceremonies for the Red River scenic boulevard project in Hanoi; the Hoa Phat Dung Quat railway rail and special steel production project (Quang Ngai); the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project (Lam Dong province); the inauguration and technical opening of the main section of the North-South East Expressway project from Can Tho - Hau Giang - Ca Mau; and the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the urban tram line project in Phu Quoc special economic zone…

Earlier, on August 19th, the Government held simultaneous groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 250 projects in 34 provinces and cities with a total capital of approximately 1.28 trillion VND to commemorate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Among these, there are 59 transportation infrastructure projects; 44 civil and urban projects; 57 industrial projects; 36 technical infrastructure projects; 22 social housing projects; 6 agricultural and rural development projects; 3 cultural and sports projects; 12 educational projects; 1 defense project; and 10 healthcare projects.

Of the 250 projects, there are: 8 nationally important projects, 46 Group A projects; 155 Group B projects and 41 Group C projects.
