
Female city officials attend a training course to improve leadership and management capacity organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs in coordination with the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City.
Can Tho City has always identified the training and development of female cadres as a key task, so it has coordinated to organize many training courses on leadership, management, digital transformation, communication and public administration skills... to help female cadres be more confident and competent in performing their duties. Recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City to organize a training course to improve the capacity of female leaders and managers, with nearly 140 trainees who are female leaders of central and local ministries and branches. Of which, Can Tho City has 14 female cadres participating. Ms. Bui My Tien, Vice Chairman of Thanh Xuan Commune People's Committee, excitedly said: "Through the training course, I updated a lot of new knowledge, at the same time trained leadership thinking, scientific working style".
Having held many positions, after the administrative unit merger, Ms. My Tien was assigned the important responsibility of Vice Chairwoman of Thanh Xuan Commune People's Committee. She confided: "Each position is a new challenge, but also an opportunity for me to practice and improve myself. If we know how to take advantage of learning opportunities and make efforts to practice, women can completely take on all important responsibilities well, contributing effectively to the development of the locality."
Ms. Le Thi My Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Hoa Luu commune, shared: "After the reorganization, the workload of the commune increased, there was a lot of pressure, but it also helped me to practice and mature more." Ms. Le Thi My Tien used to hold the position of Vice Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hau Giang province (old), and has a lot of experience in mobilizing women to participate in movements and organizational work. From practical experience and accumulated through training courses, when assigned to hold the position of Chairwoman of the People's Council of Hoa Luu commune from July 1, Ms. My Tien proactively innovated management methods, strengthened supervision activities, organized many meetings with voters on topics... Thereby, contributing to the resolutions issued by the People's Council of the commune to be increasingly closer to reality, and highly agreed by the people.
According to the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City, the city has 36,645 female cadres, civil servants, and public employees, accounting for 54.5% of the city's cadres, civil servants, and public employees; of which, there are 80 female cadres, civil servants, and public employees in leadership and management at the department and commune levels, accounting for 16.39% of cadres, civil servants, and public employees in leadership and management at the department and commune levels; there are 2,670 female cadres, civil servants, and public employees with doctoral, master's degrees and equivalent, accounting for 39.5% of cadres, civil servants, and public employees with postgraduate degrees. Female cadres, civil servants, and public employees are increasingly promoting their capacity and strengths in their work, making positive contributions to the overall development of the city.
Training and fostering activities are one of the practical solutions for the city to improve the effectiveness of female cadre work, implementing the spirit of Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Women's work in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country" and Directive No. 21-CT/TW of the Secretariat on promoting women's work in the new situation. Thereby promoting the role, capacity and contributions of women in all fields, promoting substantive gender equality.
| Speaking at a recent training course to improve the capacity of female leaders and managers, Mr. Truong Hai Long, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, affirmed: “Improving the leadership capacity of female cadres is an urgent requirement in the process of administrative reform and building a professional civil service. Training female cadres is an investment for the future. When women study, they become more mature in their expertise, spreading inspiration and positive energy to the community.” |
