Sharing experience in operating and managing data of automatic environmental monitoring stations

According to the report of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in the province there are about 86 enterprises that are required to install automatic environmental monitoring systems, however, currently only 38 enterprises have installed and transmitted data to the department.

Through monitoring and evaluating the data and data quality transmitted from some stations in Tay Ninh province, it is found that the operation, maintenance, calibration... have not been carried out in accordance with regulations; the implementation of connection plans, automatic sample collection and storage from automatic samplers, connection and monitoring of information from surveillance cameras at the unit's stations is still confusing.

The discharge location is monitored by the automatic environmental monitoring system in Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Park.

At the workshop, experts focused on discussing and analyzing key topics such as: new regulations on water and air environmental monitoring according to Decree No. 08/2022 of the Government; experience in operating, managing and reporting data of automatic and continuous monitoring stations; experience in evaluating and inspecting automatic and continuous monitoring stations and experience in sealing, receiving and managing automatic and continuous environmental monitoring data; guidance on regulations on measurement in the management and supervision of the operation of automatic and continuous monitoring stations according to the Law on Measurement and some issues related to administrative sanctions for environmental violations.

The workshop aims to improve the quality of control, transmission and reception of automatic and continuous environmental monitoring data and effectively implement unified data management across the province; urge production and business establishments in the province to ensure the completion of installation, connection and data transmission in accordance with the provisions of Articles 97 and 98 of Decree 08/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection; carry out a series of events in response to World Environment Day and Action Month for the Environment in 2024.
