(GLO)- After a slight increase of 200,000 VND in the morning trading session, on the afternoon of August 18, the domestic gold price continued to increase by 300,000 VND per tael, setting a historical peak of 125 million VND/tael.

Specifically, on the afternoon of August 18, large gold and gemstone trading enterprises nationwide simultaneously listed new prices compared to the morning session. Currently, SJC, PNJ, DOJI , and Bao Tin Minh Chau are trading buying and selling at 124-125 million VND/tael, increasing simultaneously in both directions, maintaining the difference of 1 million VND. Mi Hong alone pushed the buying price to 124.5 million VND, only 500,000 VND/tael away from the buying price; Phu Quy reached a buying price of 123 million VND/tael.

The gold ring market also recorded new increases depending on each enterprise. Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the gold ring price at 117.2-120.2 million VND/tael, an increase of 200,000 VND compared to the morning trading session; Mi Hong is currently trading at 117.9-119.4 million VND/tael, also an increase of 200,000 VND in both directions; Phu Quy is currently buying at 116.8 million VND, selling at 119.8 million VND/tael; SJC listed at 117-119.5 million VND/tael.

The world gold market recorded at 13:00 Hanoi time, each ounce of spot gold increased by nearly 20 USD during the day, currently trading around 3,350 USD per ounce. Converted according to Vietcombank's selling rate, the world gold price is equivalent to 106.9 million VND per tael.
