
From the night of June 8 to the morning of June 9, many provinces in the North and North Central regions continued to experience widespread heavy rain.
According to data from the Vrain automatic rain gauge system, localities with rainfall of 50mm or more are mainly concentrated in the mountainous and midland regions of the North, extending to the North Central region. There is also rain in the Southwest, but in small amounts.
Specifically, rainfall in some localities is as follows: Yen Bai 115.2mm at Lung Ha station, Tuyen Quang 86mm at Yen Hoa station, Nghe An 83.2mm at Cong Thanh station, Ha Giang and Vinh Phuc are all over 75mm.

Meanwhile, provinces such as Cao Bang, Bac Kan , Hoa Binh, Quang Ninh, Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa and Gia Lai all recorded rainfall of 50mm or more. Gia Lai (Central Highlands) is a notable place outside the North with heavy rain with 57.8mm.
Summary shows that heavy rain is mainly concentrated in the mountainous and midland areas of the North and extends towards Thanh Hoa - Nghe An.
Although there is rain in the Southwest, it is all light to moderate, ranging from 12mm to under 30mm in localities such as Can Tho, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang...

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, heavy rain will continue on June 9 and spread from this evening to tomorrow morning, June 10.
Some mountainous and midland areas of the North may have rain exceeding 180mm.
The risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas is very high, especially in provinces such as Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, and Hoa Binh.

Meanwhile, the weather in the plains and coastal areas of the North is still alternating between sunny and hot in the afternoon, with common temperatures of 32-34 degrees Celsius. In the area from Nghe An to Phu Yen, the heat is still intense with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 37 degrees Celsius.
This evening, the Central Highlands and the South are forecast to have widespread thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 70mm, along with the risk of localized flooding in low-lying and urban areas, as well as tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
Offshore, in the next 1-2 days, a tropical depression is likely to form in the East Sea. Vietnam's meteorological agency is currently monitoring this cyclone.
