The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested that people (except for those on duty) limit leaving their homes starting from 10am on October 27 to prevent and fight the storm.
On October 26, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued an official dispatch conveying the direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee on responding to storm No. 6 (storm Trami).
Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts to regularly and closely monitor the developments of storms, floods, and rains, and to deploy plans to evacuate people living in boarding houses, temporary houses, non-permanent houses, and areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and rising sea levels to safe places, to be completed before 10:00 p.m. on October 26. In particular, priority will be given to evacuating areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides.
The Chairman of Da Nang requested people to limit going out during the storm.
The document also requested people (except for those on duty) to limit leaving their homes starting from 10:00 a.m. on October 27.
The People's Committees of coastal districts are responsible for notifying and requesting owners of vessels to anchor their boats in the right places. Organize the towing of small-capacity boats to shore, to be completed before 10:00 a.m. on October 27.
The Chairman of Da Nang also assigned the Department of Transport to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Tourism and relevant units to guide tourist boat owners to anchor safely.
The City Border Guard Command presided over and coordinated with relevant units to propagate and mobilize crew members to leave their boats and take safe shelter ashore before 10:00 a.m. on October 27.
In addition, the Chairman of Da Nang also assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts to direct the Project Management Boards and project investors to request all construction contractors to stop construction, urgently lower tower cranes, cranes and high-altitude construction equipment to ensure safety.
Previously, to ensure safety during the storm, the People's Committee of Son Tra district also assigned functional forces to block roads to Son Tra peninsula from 5:00 p.m. on October 26 until further notice.
According to records, by 7:30 pm on October 26, the coastal area of Da Nang had light winds and drizzle. Many residents had completed shoring up their houses and erecting barriers to prevent water from flooding their homes if there was heavy rain.
