Detailed rainfall forecast, flood warning for many days in Da Nang

ĐNO - On the morning of November 15, the Central Hydrometeorological Station issued detailed forecasts of rainfall in various areas and warned of flooding lasting for many days on rivers in Da Nang city.

The southern mountains have heavy rain, very heavy rain

Accordingly, from tonight (November 15) to the morning of November 17, in the communes and wards of the plains and midlands of Da Nang city, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with common rainfall from 80 - 180mm, in some places over 250mm.

Southern mountainous communes and wards have heavy rain, very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100 - 200mm, in some places over 300mm.

Northern mountainous communes and wards have moderate rain, scattered heavy rain, some places very heavy rain with common amount of 50 - 100mm, some places over 150mm.

Specifically, it is forecasted that from 7:00 p.m. on November 15 to 10:00 a.m. on November 17, the areas of Hai Chau, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le, Hoa Khanh, Hoi An, Dien Ban, and Dai Loc will have common rainfall of 80 - 150 mm, with some places over 200 mm.

Tam Ky, Nui Thanh, Thang Binh areas have common rainfall of 100 - 180mm, in some places over 250mm.

Hoa Tien, Hai Van, Thanh My, Dong Giang, Tay Giang commonly 50 - 100mm, some places over 150mm

Que Son, Tien Phuoc, Kham Duc, Tra My commonly have 100 - 200mm, some places over 300mm; Hoang Sa special zone commonly has 50 - 100mm, some places over 150mm.

During thunderstorms, beware of lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind, and heavy rain with an intensity of over 150mm in 3 hours.

From November 17 to the end of the night of November 18, in Da Nang city, there will continue to be heavy rain, very heavy rain, total rainfall in communes and wards in the plains and midlands is generally 120 - 220mm, in some places over 300mm; in the southern mountainous areas it is generally 150 - 300mm, in some places over 400mm; in the northern mountainous areas it is generally 100 - 200mm, in some places over 250mm.

From November 19, widespread heavy rain is likely to continue to occur in Da Nang city.

Floods on rivers are likely to last for days.

Due to heavy rain, from November 16 to 20, there is a possibility of a flood on rivers in Da Nang city.

During this flood, the flood level in the upper reaches of the rivers is from 6-9m, in the middle reaches from 3-6m and in the lower reaches from 1.5-2.5m.

Flood peak on Vu Gia - Thu Bon river fluctuates at alarm level 2 to 3, some places above 3; Han river and Tam Ky river are at levels 2 to 3.

Flooding on rivers is likely to last for many days.

High risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, flooding in urban areas, flash floods, landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of Da Nang city.
