President attends meeting with veteran security force officers

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the People's Security Forces' Traditional Day (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2024), on July 10, in Hanoi, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a traditional meeting to pay tribute to generations of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, veteran security officers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces in the security forces, generals and senior security officers of all periods and to review the heroic tradition of the People's Security Forces (PFF). President To Lam attended and spoke at the meeting. Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security - chaired the meeting. On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang reviewed the outstanding achievements of the Public Security Forces in general and the PFF in particular in recent times. At the same time, he emphasized that the above achievements and results were achieved, first of all, thanks to the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Party and State; in addition, there were important contributions from former police leaders at all levels, veteran cadres and retired police officers and soldiers.

“Although you have retired, you are still interested and have many dedicated opinions on the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and building and developing the People's Public Security Forces in general and the People's Public Security Forces in particular. Your feelings, attention and encouragement are a very important source of encouragement and guidance for generations of leaders, officers and soldiers of the public security forces and the security forces,” the Minister of Public Security emphasized, expressing his respect, gratitude and hope to continue receiving valuable and dedicated contributions from generations of seniors. In the coming time, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security will continue to strengthen leadership and direction of the Association of Former Public Security Forces at all levels to operate effectively, creating all-round conditions for retired public security officers in general and retired public security officers in particular to promote their role in protecting security, order and building the People's Public Security Forces. At the same time, take care to cultivate and build a team of security officers who are worthy of the requirements and tasks, worthy of the glorious heroic tradition of the People's Public Security Forces in general and the People's Public Security Forces in particular. Firmly ensure national security and interests from afar, from beyond the territorial borders, effectively serving the cause of economic and social development of the country. Speaking at the meeting, President To Lam kindly sent his regards and best wishes for good health to the leaders and former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, generals, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, senior officers, and veteran officers of the People's Public Security Forces through the periods. The President expressed his joy at meeting again with veteran officers of the People's Public Security Forces in particular and the People's Public Security Forces in general; sharing memories of his lifelong work and dedication to the People's Public Security Forces and the People's Public Security Forces. The President emphasized that the tasks of the public security work from now until the end of the 13th Party Congress and the following years are very heavy, both ensuring regular and urgent requirements and focusing on investment in fundamental and long-term strategic issues.
