In West Texas (USA), there was a recent flight of the New Shepard rocket complex with a crew of 6 women. The flight, called mission NS-31, is the project to carry the 11th person into space.
The 6 selected astronauts are outstanding women in many fields, including Ms. Amanda Nguyen - founder and General Director of the non- governmental organization Rise.
The New Shepard spacecraft's journey was a success, reaching an altitude of 100km in space and returning safely. After the flight, Amanda Nguyen became the first Vietnamese woman to fly into space.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung witnessed the flight of the New Shepard and presented a letter fromPresident Luong Cuong to Ms. Amanda Nguyen.
In the letter, the President expressed his joy and pride that for the first time a Vietnamese woman flew into space, affirming the talent and intelligence of Vietnamese people, in the US and around the world.
The President's letter emphasized that in 2025, Vietnam and the US will celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations; in the overall relationship between the two countries, Vietnam highly appreciates the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in the US to the development and progress of the US, as well as promoting the Vietnam-US cooperative relationship.
The President highly appreciated the cooperation between Ms. Amanda Nguyen and the Vietnam Space Center, which helps promote cooperative relations between the two countries.
On the evening of April 14, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper met with Lieutenant General Pham Tuan (the first Vietnamese person to fly into space) to watch the historic moment when Amanda Nguyen flew into space.

According to the US Embassy, Amanda's journey carrying lotus seeds from Vietnam into orbit is not only a milestone, but also a symbol of the journey the two countries have traveled and the future they are looking forward to together.
The Vietnam Space Center under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology said it has provided 169 lotus seeds (Nelumbo nucifera) - a symbol of purity and strong vitality in Vietnamese culture.
These seeds were selected from the Flower and Ornamental Plant Research and Development Center of the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences. These lotus seeds returned from the mission to open up research on the effects of space on growth, contributing to plant science and space exploration.
Accompanying Amanda on the NS-31 mission were five distinguished female astronauts: Bahamian-born American aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, journalist Gayle King, singer Katy Perry, film producer Kerrianne Flynn, and helicopter pilot Lauren Sánchez. This was the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s flight in 1963, representing a step forward for gender equality in space.
