Seeing off the delegation at JF Kennedy International Airport, New York City were Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung; Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations Do Hung Viet and staff of the Embassy and the Delegation.
During the working trip, the President attended the high-level general meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, delivered important speeches at the High-level General Debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and the Special Global High-Level Event on Climate Action. At the same time, the President had bilateral meetings and contacts with leaders of international organizations and countries attending the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly.

Attending the meetings, especially at the High-level General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the President delivered an important speech with the consistent message of "Honoring the value of peace , strong transformation to create a sustainable future", emphasizing that over the past 80 years, the United Nations has always been the embodiment of humanity's common aspiration for peace, cooperation and development, based on universal values of human rights, national independence, equality, democracy and social progress.
Sharing the story of a Vietnam that has risen from the ruins of war and is striving to become a strong, prosperous and happy nation, the President affirmed that Vietnam always strives to do its best and stands side by side with all countries to shoulder common responsibilities, overcome challenges, promote strong transformation to create a world of peace, stability, prosperity and sustainable development, bringing happiness and prosperity to all people.
Along with that, the President had a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of countries attending the United Nations General Assembly session such as UN Secretary-General António Guterres; UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock; Austrian Prime Minister Christian Stocker; Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios; Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon; Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov; Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa; Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan...

The President also had meetings with US leaders, received leaders of major US corporations; met with long-time partners and leading scholars; attended meetings between Vietnamese and US veterans who participated in the war in Vietnam; met with officials and employees of Vietnamese representative agencies and prominent representatives of the Vietnamese community; and presided over the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in New York. The activities affirmed the policy of attaching importance to further developing relations with the US, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, science and technology; and promoted the implementation of agreements and commitments between the two countries' senior leaders.
The President's working trip was a great success in both multilateral and bilateral aspects, leaving a good impression on Vietnam's role, position, and positive and substantial contributions in resolving global issues as well as promoting Vietnam's relations with the United States and Vietnam's relations with other countries to contribute to peace and development in the region and the world.
