On the afternoon of November 1, local time, in Busan, on the occasion of attending the 32nd APEC Summit Week and bilateral activities in Korea, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation met with officials and staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea and the Vietnamese community in Southeast Korea.
At the meeting with the Vietnamese community in Korea, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho reported to President Luong Cuong on the situation of Vietnam-Korea bilateral relations, the results of activities of representative agencies and work for the Vietnamese community in the area.
Currently, there are about 350,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Korea, of which more than 87,000 are in the Southeast region of Korea alone.
Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party and State always listen to and create favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese, and at the same time inform about new policies related to nationality, identity, housing, science and technology to meet their legitimate needs.
The President asked Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea to continue to do a good job in protecting citizens, caring for the community and effectively promoting bilateral cooperation./.
