The President decided to spend more than 834 billion VND to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions.

On April 23, President Luong Cuong signed Decision No. 689/QD-CTN on giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Delegates met at the 2023 National Conference to honor outstanding meritorious people.

According to the decision ofthe President , people with revolutionary contributions will be given gifts on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including:

People with meritorious services to the revolution who are receiving monthly preferential allowances: people who participated in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945 to the August Revolution of 1945; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes during the resistance war; war invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, war invalids of type B, sick soldiers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; people who contributed to the revolution; people who participated in revolutionary activities, resistance wars, protecting the Fatherland, performing international duties and were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy and are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Relatives of people with revolutionary contributions: relatives of martyrs receiving monthly survivor allowance; relatives of two or more martyrs receiving survivor allowance; representatives of martyrs' relatives; people who worship martyrs (in case the martyr has no relatives).

The gift amount for the two above-mentioned groups is 500,000 VND/person, which will be paid once on April 30, 2025. The total budget for this meaningful activity is more than 834 billion VND.

The budget for giving gifts by the President is guaranteed by the central budget according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 14, Article 170 of Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP.
