President: Viettel Aerospace Institute masters modern technology

President Luong Cuong asked Viettel Aerospace Institute to master and develop modern technology and perfect the defense industrial infrastructure.

On the morning of December 9, in Hanoi , Viettel Aerospace Institute held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

President Luong Cuong attended and, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Viettel Aerospace Institute for its outstanding achievements in researching and manufacturing high-tech strategic weapons for the Army and the country.

Also attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Party Central Committee members: Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; and leaders, former leaders, and heads of a number of units of the Ministry of National Defense.

Established in 2014, Viettel Aerospace Institute is tasked with researching, manufacturing, and producing high-tech strategic weapons assigned by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense. Over the past 10 years, the Institute has successfully completed many tasks, making positive contributions to the cause of building the Army, strengthening national defense, and protecting the Fatherland.

The Institute has had many initiatives and breakthrough solutions to help save costs, minimize risks, and at the same time produce, upgrade and improve many types of weapons, equipment and components, meeting the most stringent standards on techniques and strategies for use in training purposes, and combat readiness in many different situations.

Not only outstanding in research and manufacturing, the aerospace and high-tech industrial sectors of Viettel Group in general have attracted many senior Vietnamese engineers and experts working at large technology corporations in the world to work in Vietnam.

During the period 2016-2023, the unit was awarded the Government Emulation Flag for 2 years, the Ministry of National Defense Emulation Flag for 5 years, and the Determined to Win Unit title for 1 year. Up to now, Viettel Aerospace Institute has received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal, 8 Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense, and 3 Certificates of Merit from the General Department of Politics.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong expressed his pleasure on behalf of the Party and State leaders to award the noble title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Viettel Aerospace Institute.

The President emphasized that the achievements of the Institute are not only the pride of the nation but also realize the aspiration of the Vietnamese people for thousands of years, always wishing to have enough strength and autonomy to protect independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, for eternal peace and the longevity of the nation.

The results that the Institute has achieved are also thanks to the wise leadership of the Party and State, regularly and directly by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense; the active, close, proactive and effective coordination of central and local ministries, branches, agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.

In particular, the autonomy, self-reliance, determination and breakthrough in thinking, working and implementation of generations of leaders, experts and engineers of Viettel Group, directly comes from the silent dedication of each officer, engineer and employee of Viettel Aerospace Institute.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President congratulated the collective of cadres, engineers and workers of Viettel Aerospace Institute and the Group; hoping that the unit will continue to promote intelligence, bravery and creativity to have more great achievements, contributing to firmly protecting the Fatherland.

The President also praised the high sense of responsibility, effective coordination, and active participation of relevant ministries, branches, and localities, especially the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense through the periods and the agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.

At the same time, the President acknowledged the efforts and determination of generations of Viettel Group leaders, the silent labor and sacrifice of all officers and employees of the Group and Viettel Aerospace Institute.

Emphasizing that today's achievements and honors are just the beginning, in the context of the complicated developments in the global political and security situation, the task of building a modern and self-reliant defense industry is more urgent than ever, the President asked the unit to master and develop modern technology.

Along with that is completing the defense industry infrastructure; continuing to invest in research, testing, and production complexes that meet international standards, ensuring consistency and closure; building centers for testing and evaluating the quality of defense equipment, to better support research and product development projects.

The President noted the need to proactively contribute to building State mechanisms and policies to ensure consistency from research, production to application, promote research and development, technology transfer, and protect intellectual property rights for defense inventions.

The President requested that we continue to attach importance to and focus on building a clean and strong Party organization, associated with building a comprehensively strong "exemplary and typical" unit; developing high-quality human resources that are both professionally skilled and politically steadfast.

At the same time, Viettel Aerospace Institute regularly cares for the material and spiritual life and ensures absolute safety for officers, experts, engineers and their families; strengthens cooperation with universities and research institutes at home and abroad to train and attract talents, meeting the development requirements of the high-tech defense industry.

Looking back at the past 10 years of Viettel Aerospace Institute, the President affirmed that we have the right to be proud of the achievements that have been made, but there is still a long way ahead, with many difficulties, challenges and glories awaiting. There is no easy path, but each steady step will lead to success with achievements of lasting value.

The President expressed his deep belief that with a high sense of responsibility and strong will, Viettel Group and Viettel Aerospace Institute will continue to reap even greater achievements, contributing to building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army; continue to promote the heroic tradition of the People's Armed Forces, the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new period, always worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, Army and people nationwide./.
