Also attending the welcoming ceremony were: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh - Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the Nationalities Council Lam Van Man; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Hoang Hai.

This is the third visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin in his capacity as Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The visit takes place in the context of the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries with high political trust being strongly promoted through all channels of the Party, Government and National Assembly. Leaders of the two countries maintain mutual visits, contacts and participation in multilateral events hosted by each country.

The visit shows that the two countries attach importance to the traditional friendship and are determined to consolidate and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; at the same time, promote the implementation of major orientations that were discussed and agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders during the State visit to Vietnam by President Vladimir Putin (June 2024) and the official visit to the Russian Federation by General Secretary To Lam (May 2025).

The visit contributes to strengthening cooperation between the State Duma of the Russian Federation in particular, the Russian Federation Parliament in general and the National Assembly of Vietnam - one of the important political cooperation contents of the Vietnam - Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

+ Previously, within the framework of the visit, immediately after arriving in Hanoi, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin and the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroic Martyrs and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
