National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chairs the meeting of the National Election Council.

Attending the meeting were: Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Election Council Do Van Chien; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairman of the National Election Council Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the National Election Council Nguyen Hoa Binh ; Party Central Committee member, Vice President, Vice Chairman of the National Election Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired the 3rd session of the National Election Council.

Also attending the meeting were Politburo members, Central Secretariat members, Central Party Committee members who are members of the National Election Council and representatives of relevant agencies.

Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that since the second session on September 15, 2025, preparations for the election have been carried out synchronously, methodically, and on schedule by agencies, organizations, levels, sectors, and localities.

In particular, it has focused on leading, directing and issuing documents to guide localities in preparing necessary conditions for elections; closely coordinating with the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and relevant agencies in developing a master plan, perfecting processes, regulations, standards and personnel criteria.

The work of planning and implementation progress has been updated, supplemented and perfected in the spirit of innovation, savings and efficiency, while at the same time increasing the application of information technology in managing, monitoring progress and operating election work.

Information and propaganda work has been deployed early, systematically, diverse in form, rich in content, targeting all classes of people. Central and local press agencies have actively promoted the meaning and importance of the election;

The work of preparing personnel and reviewing candidate standards is being carried out carefully and in accordance with procedures, ensuring a reasonable structure between the central and local levels, between sectors and fields, between men and women, between ages, while focusing on the structure of delegates being ethnic minorities, young people, experts, scientists, businessmen and armed forces.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that after nearly two months of synchronous implementation, preparations for the election are on the right track, ensuring Party leadership, quality, progress, compliance with the law, and achieving very remarkable initial results.

At the 3rd Session, the National Election Council focused on assessing the initial results of the implementation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; giving opinions on the report on results from the 2nd Session up to now and a number of key tasks in the coming time, first of all focusing on reviewing and giving opinions on the content, program, and careful preparation work for the National Conference to disseminate the Politburo's Directive and deploy the election work, which will take place on November 15.

The National Election Council will also give opinions on important contents related to the expected number, structure, and composition of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, and the completion of a number of members of the National Election Council and the National Election Council's Working Subcommittee.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man asked comrades to focus on giving specific and direct opinions on each content, especially key issues in the coming time; emerging issues, difficulties, obstacles, and problems (if any) to focus on leadership, direction, and organization of implementation to ensure the correct progress, quality, and effectiveness of key tasks in the coming time.
