Lam Dong Provincial Chairman paid 4.2 billion VND to remedy the consequences

On January 3, Dan Tri 's source said that the family of Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, had paid 4.2 billion VND to the authorities to remedy the consequences.

This is the latest move by Mr. Hiep's family, just one day after Mr. Hiep was prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03) of the Ministry of Public Security to investigate the crime of Receiving Bribes.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 2, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, said that the Investigation Police Agency had prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Tran Van Hiep (Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee) for the crime of accepting bribes.

During the investigation, the authorities determined that Mr. Tran Van Hiep had received bribes related to the Dai Ninh commercial, tourism and ecological resort urban area project of tycoon Nguyen Cao Tri in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province.
