At the meeting, Comrade Pham Trong Nhan - Chairman of La Gi Town People's Committee presented a summary report on the socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2025. Accordingly, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, La Gi Town has made many efforts, focused on leadership, direction and implementation of tasks and achieved very positive results. Specifically, the indicators of industrial, agricultural, trade and tourism production all increased compared to the same period in 2024. Typically, the value of industrial production reached nearly 616 billion VND, up 4.64% over the same period. Agricultural production continued to receive attention and direction, food output reached 2,860 tons, up 2.07% over the same period; seafood exploitation activities continued to be maintained and developed, the output of seafood exploitation reached 12,300 tons, up 1.23% over the same period; The number of tourists to the town was 95,000, up 2.15% over the same period; revenue from tourism services was 57 billion VND; total export turnover reached 39,674 million USD, up 7.41% over the same period. Budget revenue reached nearly 118 billion VND, up 11% over the same period.

The fight against IUU fishing has been focused, since the beginning of the year, there have been no fishing vessels or fishermen in the town illegally exploiting seafood in foreign waters. The implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development and Advanced New Rural Development for the period 2021 - 2025 has achieved quite comprehensive results. The work of establishing, adjusting and supplementing various types of planning has been given attention. State management, national defense, security and social order and safety continue to be consolidated and maintained.

In addition to the achieved results, La Gi town still has some limitations and shortcomings such as: Economic growth is not commensurate with its potential; Disbursement of public investment capital is still low compared to the same period; Progress of infrastructure investment in industrial clusters and urban infrastructure, although concentrated, has not changed clearly, not meeting the requirements. La Gi Town People's Committee also proposed 10 issues, such as: Directing the Provincial Fishing Port Management Board to urgently coordinate with the provincial Departments and branches to promptly implement the dredging project to clear the La Gi estuary in Phuoc Loc Ward and Binh Tan Ward, La Gi Town. Early investment in projects that the Provincial People's Committee has approved to prepare Feasibility Study Reports in the town. Consider and pay attention to allocating investment capital for 2 projects of Underground dike to reduce waves to protect residential areas in Tan Phuoc Commune, La Gi Town and Underground dike to reduce waves to protect the coast of Tan Tien Commune, La Gi Town. Allocate capital to invest in repairing and upgrading the Doc Ong Bang Historical - Revolutionary Relic Site...

Concluding the working session, Comrade Do Huu Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province said that from now until July 1, 2025, the time when the district-level People's Committee's activities end, therefore, the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the town still have many unfinished tasks that need to be resolved, at the same time, proactively propose to deploy the work of arranging and organizing the commune-level apparatus according to the direction of the Central and the province. Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of La Gi town to review and speed up the implementation of the goals, targets, tasks, and solutions of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Resolution of the Congress of Delegates of La Gi town for the 2020-2025 term and the Resolution of the Town People's Council have set out the highest determination, striving to complete and exceed the set targets. Effectively deploy solutions to promote disbursement of public investment capital, complete the settlement of completed projects and the collection of the State budget in the area. Actively coordinate with investors to have specific solutions to handle problems related to compensation and site clearance for key projects of the province and the town; continue to review and propose competent authorities to consider and revoke tourism projects that are not implemented or are slow to implement in accordance with legal regulations, avoiding waste of land resources.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the People's Committee of La Gi town to promote tourism; improve the quality and diversity of tourism programs, products and services, forms of joint ventures and associations to develop tourism, ensure the safety of tourists, a "green - clean - beautiful" environment, and prevent the situation of soliciting and "ripping off" tourists; attract and call for capable and experienced investors to implement large projects, especially in the fields of services and tourism. Strengthen state management in the fields of land, resources, environment, construction order, urban areas, and resolutely handle violations in the fields of land, minerals, environment, and construction in the area. At the same time, promote digital transformation; improve the quality of management, discipline, order, and work resolution of cadres, civil servants, and public employees, especially leaders in performing public duties. In particular, well implement the work of arranging and organizing the apparatus in accordance with the direction of the Central and the province; proactively resolve or propose to competent authorities to resolve policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers who request leave in accordance with regulations.

Regarding the 10 recommendations of the People's Committee of La Gi town, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant departments and branches, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve in April 2025.
