Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang inspected the implementation of the plan to evacuate people to respond to storm No. 13 in Long Phung commune.

On the afternoon of November 6, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang personally inspected the preparations and implementation of evacuation plans to ensure the safety of people in Long Phung commune, in the face of complicated developments of storm No. 13 approaching the mainland.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee listened to a quick report from the Long Phung commune government and functional forces on the storm situation, areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding, as well as plans to evacuate people to safety.

According to the report of the Long Phung Commune Leaders, the whole commune currently has 39,996 people; of which, the number of households living along the coastal area of ​​the landslide area, with non-solid houses, needing to be evacuated before the storm is about 700 households, with 1,989 people. By 12 noon today, the whole commune has completed the evacuation of affected households to safe places. People are arranged to live in solid houses and gathering places such as schools and agency headquarters in the area.

At the same time, the locality has also established a rapid response team of 500 people, mobilizing many vehicles such as trucks, cars, canoes, motorboats, flashlights, loudspeakers, etc. to be ready to carry out rescue missions and rescue people in emergency situations. Currently, this force has been deployed in key areas to promptly respond when natural disasters occur. Along with that, Duc Loi Border Guard Station has actively mobilized and guided fishing boats, boats, and aquaculture cages to move to safe shelters; up to this point, the evacuation work at sea has been basically completed.

Through the actual inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested the locality not to be subjective, urgently review all residential areas along the coast, rivers, low-lying areas, absolutely not let people stay in dangerous areas, especially coastal areas. At the same time, it is necessary to prepare enough food, drinking water and essential necessities in evacuation areas and organize 24/24 duty to be ready to respond when the storm makes landfall.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang visited the people at the Duc Loi Primary School evacuation site. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee kindly asked about their health and shared with them the difficulties in the evacuation process. He also hoped that people would strictly follow the province's evacuation order and proactively take precautions to ensure their safety. He also asked people to return home only when the storm has passed and safety is guaranteed.

At the same time, direct the police, military , and militia forces to continue to coordinate closely to support people in moving, especially households with the elderly, children, and people with disabilities.
