At the end of the session on April 28, VN-Index reached 1,226 points, up slightly by 2.4 points, equivalent to 0.2%.
At the opening of the trading session, investors were cautious with slow buying and selling activities. The VN-Index fluctuated within a narrow range around the reference level, with the number of stocks increasing and decreasing almost equal. Market liquidity remained low, reaching about VND8,000 billion in the morning session, reflecting investors' cautious sentiment before the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
Selling pressure increased in the middle of the session, causing the VN-Index to fall back to the 1,220-point zone. However, active buying pressure gradually returned soon after, helping the general index recover and close around the reference level.
Securities and food and beverage stocks led the gains, with an average increase of nearly 1%. In contrast, real estate and media stocks were under strong selling pressure, falling 1.15% and 2.94%, respectively, raising concerns that selling pressure could develop unexpectedly in the next session.

According to Dragon Capital Securities Company (VDSC), liquidity on April 28 decreased compared to the previous session, showing that both supply and demand cooled down before the holiday.
Meanwhile, Vietcombank Securities Company (VCBS) forecasts that the market will continue to trade cautiously with a narrow range in the session of April 29.
VCBS recommends that investors be patient, focus on restructuring their portfolios, reduce the proportion of stocks with a downward trend and consider disbursing into stocks that attract cash flow, especially in the retail, fertilizer and public investment sectors.
