On the morning of October 30th, at the auditorium of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Culture Associations (81 Tran Quoc Thao Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans' Song and Dance Troupe organized an art program titled "Songs from the Heart" to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Troupe's founding.

The Ho Chi Minh City Veterans' Music and Dance Troupe was established on October 30, 1992, with a vibrant force of former soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh Army, who have consistently strived to preserve and promote cultural and artistic values. The troupe has performed over 500 shows, reaching tens of thousands of audiences across the country, serving volunteer youth, border soldiers, and contributing to the vibrant mass cultural and artistic movements in the city.

The delegation also actively organized friendly exchange programs with international veteran delegations, contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and friends around the world.

Thirty-three years is a long journey, etched with the dedication, efforts, and aspirations of veterans who always carry in their hearts a great love for their country and a radiant, shimmering flame of art.

During the resistance war, they were soldiers shining with revolutionary ideals, always harboring in their youthful hearts a great belief in the day when the country would be unified. In peacetime, these soldiers enthusiastically carried out new tasks on the cultural and artistic front, working together to spread and honor national pride and the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people through songs, dances, and traditional revolutionary musical melodies.

Even after several decades, these veteran artists remain dedicated to art, contributing to bringing the image of loyal and courageous soldiers from the past to the present closer to the public, actively transmitting creative inspiration, nurturing patriotism, and spreading the beauty of traditional music to the younger generation.

In particular, the leading figure of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans' Song and Dance Troupe is People's Artist Thanh Dinh, who was awarded the title of People's Artist by the President of Vietnam in 2024. This year, at 93 years old, he still maintains his passion and continues to ignite enthusiasm and energy in the arts movement of veterans, helping to keep the rhythm of patriotic, life-loving, and music-loving hearts alive.

In many performances, even while confined to a wheelchair due to old age and frailty, People's Artist Thanh Đính always sang alongside his colleagues to reciprocate the precious affection that countless audiences have shown him and the soldier-artists.

In the "Singing from the Heart" program, many colleagues, friends, students, and succeeding generations of singers such as composer Tran Xuan Tien, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh, etc., shared their feelings and admiration for the talent, passion, and selfless dedication of People's Artist Thanh Dinh to music, and the great love of this veteran soldier for his homeland.

A large audience enjoyed many heroic patriotic musical compositions: Footprints Ahead, Song of Unity, The Heart of a Soldier, You Are the Unwavering Faith in Victory, Greetings, My Girl from Lam Hong, March of Day and Night, We Are Soldiers of Uncle Ho, Our Army, Our Heroic Army, Comrades, the Lotus Dance of Thap Muoi, the flute solo " I Still March On"...
