Art program "Singing from the heart"

The Ho Chi Minh City Veterans' Song and Dance Troupe was established on October 30, 1992, with a dynamic force of former Uncle Ho soldiers, always persistent in preserving and promoting cultural and artistic values. The troupe has performed more than 500 performances for tens of thousands of audiences across the country, serving the youth volunteers and soldiers at the border, contributing to the excitement of the art movements serving the masses in the city.

The delegation also actively organizes friendly exchange programs with international veteran delegations, contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and friends around the world.

33 years is a long journey, marking the dedication, efforts and aspirations of veterans, who always carry in their hearts a great love for the Fatherland and a bright, sparkling flame of art.

During the resistance war, they were soldiers with shining revolutionary ideals, always harboring in their young hearts a great belief in the day of national reunification. In peacetime, these soldiers passionately carried out new tasks on the cultural and artistic front, joining hands to spread and honor national pride and the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people through songs, dances, and traditional revolutionary music melodies.

Although decades have passed, the artists - veterans are still tirelessly attached to art, contributing to bringing the image of loyal and brave soldiers from the past to the present closer to the public, actively conveying creative inspiration, nurturing patriotism, spreading the beauty of traditional music to the younger generation.

In particular, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans' Song and Dance Troupe is People's Artist Thanh Dinh, who was awarded the title of People's Artist by the President in 2024. Although he is 93 years old this year, he still keeps the flame of passion in him, and is also the one who lights the fire of enthusiasm and excitement for the veterans' art movement, helping to keep the rhythm of the hearts of those who love their country, love life, and love music.

In many performance programs, despite being in a wheelchair due to old age and poor health, People's Artist Thanh Dinh always sang loudly with his colleagues to repay the precious affection of the audience for him and the soldiers and artists.

In the program Singing from the Heart , many colleagues, friends, students, and the next generation of singers such as musician Tran Xuan Tien, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh... shared their feelings, admiration for the talent, passion, and dedication of People's Artist Thanh Dinh to music and the great love of a veteran soldier for his homeland.
