Transferred to police for monitoring 5 cases of disguised multi-level marketing

Mr. Le Trieu Dung, Chairman of the National Competition Commission, said that in 2023, the National Competition Commission transferred information on 5 cases with signs of illegal multi-level marketing to the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention ( Ministry of Public Security ) for timely monitoring, supervision and handling.

The Committee also coordinated to respond and provide information to the police agencies of many localities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Tinh, Ha Nam, Quang Binh, and Da Nang in identifying and handling multi-level marketing activities with signs of illegality.

According to the leader of the National Competition Commission, from 2016 to present, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has revoked the certificates and terminated or suspended multi-level marketing activities of 25 enterprises, initiated investigations into 65 cases, and imposed administrative penalties on 64 cases with a total fine of VND 11 billion. In 2023 alone, the Ministry of Industry and Trade imposed administrative penalties on 5 multi-level marketing enterprises and 1 individual participating in multi-level marketing with a total fine of more than VND 1.1 billion. Currently, there are only 20 enterprises with multi-level marketing registration certificates operating nationwide.
