Digital transformation at Hoa Sen Kindergarten

With the continuous development of science and technology, digital transformation has a profound impact on alleducational issues, requiring comprehensive changes in management and teaching at all levels. In order to create consensus, support, and participation of all staff, teachers, employees, and parents of the school in promoting digital transformation in the school's educational activities, the Board of Directors of Hoa Sen Kindergarten has promoted propaganda and raised awareness of digital transformation for staff, managers, teachers, and parents of students.

Along with that, the school has equipped all classes with smart TVs, wifi coverage throughout the school, creating favorable conditions for applying technology in child care and education. However, when first starting to implement digital transformation nearly 5 years ago, many teachers of the school were still weak in information technology (IT) skills, not proficient in using many new software to support teaching and testing, evaluation; the school's database was still managed separately on many systems, there was no common software to manage the entire process and activities of the school... Therefore, the school has coordinated with telecommunications units, software providers to train all teachers to proficiently use industry database software, vnEdu, SMAS, regular training software of the Ministry of Education: http://taphuan.csdl.edu.vn; Use Zalo, Facebook, SMS to convey information to staff, teachers, employees, parents and students; application software in teaching, testing and evaluation such as: software to create and present electronic lectures, Google Form applications...

Teacher Ha Thi Cam Thu, a teacher at Hoa Sen Kindergarten, shared: “Previously, after finishing preparing the lesson plan, we had to print and bind it to submit, which took a lot of time. But since using the software, after finishing the plan, we only need to sign it and send it to the leaders for approval, which is very convenient and quick. Digital transformation in preschool education also makes our professional work more interesting by innovating teaching methods. For example, in storytelling lessons, we do not need to flip through each page and tell the children, but instead we will make a video with images and record our voice directly and then present it, making the children extremely excited.”

In the field of digital transformation in schools, as in any other profession, the role of the leader is extremely important. At Hoa Sen Kindergarten, the movement of applying IT in teaching activities and digital transformation in management activities is focused on by the school board, requiring all staff and teachers to implement it unanimously.

Principal of Hoa Sen Kindergarten Le Thi Nga shared: “Currently, 100% of teachers have personal computers for work and preparing lessons on software; nearly 50% of teachers have the skills to design lessons on software and make “reportages” in video format for presentation... The application of digital technology not only helps optimize management, improve teaching quality, strengthen connections between schools, teachers, parents... but also supports and helps children access many different learning “resources” or use educational games for children to develop new skills...”.

To have a team that is "even-handed" in applying IT and digital transformation in the school's educational activities, Ms. Le Thi Nga shared: "The school has established specialized IT teams, then each member of this team is responsible for guiding 2-3 teachers. There are many times when there is no break at noon, the teachers take the opportunity to guide and "show each other how to do things" and help each other improve. In addition, through the use of educational management software, the school can organize and store information about students, teachers, learning records and assessment results conveniently and safely."

By proactively learning, improving digital skills to effectively apply in teaching, being creative in designing educational activities using technology, helping children access technology in an age-appropriate manner... is an important step forward to meet the development requirements in the digital age, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education, making Hoa Sen Kindergarten a bright spot in the education sector of Trieu Son district.
