Military and medical experts converge to discuss technology solutions to control hospital infections

Strengthening infection control and appropriate antibiotic stewardship are key to reducing hospital-acquired infections, protecting patients, and maintaining the effectiveness of the antibiotic arsenal.

Today (November 15), Military Hospital 103 organized the Scientific Conference on Quality Management and Infection Control in 2025 with the theme "Hospital quality management from national criteria to international standards and infection control in the era of antibiotic resistance".

The event aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 103 Military Hospital's traditional day (December 20, 1950 - December 20, 2025).

Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Cong Thuc, Director of Military Hospital 103, emphasized: Strengthening infection control and managing the rational use of antibiotics is the key solution to reduce hospital infections, protect patients and maintain the effectiveness of antibiotic weapons.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Cong Thuc emphasized: In the current context, quality management is a vital requirement and the foundation for improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.

The conference is an opportunity for us to discuss and evaluate the effectiveness of applying the Ministry of Health 's Quality Criteria, and at the same time learn valuable experiences from international standards such as JCI and ISO, aiming for the highest safety and satisfaction for patients.

"At the same time, we are facing the global challenge of antibiotic resistance. Strengthening infection control and managing the appropriate use of antibiotics is the key solution to reduce hospital infections, protect patients and maintain the effectiveness of antibiotic weapons," said Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Cong Thuc.

Reports at the conference focused on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, applying technology and artificial intelligence in monitoring medical examination and treatment activities, infection control, clinical practice with electronic medical records integrated with evidence-based medicine, IOS quality assessment criteria, etc.

The reports focus on practical research, effective implementation models and digital technology applications, providing valuable professional resources, contributing to capacity building for medical facilities inside and outside the Army.

The delegates had a lively discussion, many ideas were contributed and discussed by the participants... to update knowledge, share practical experiences, and propose breakthrough solutions, contributing to building an increasingly professional, effective, safe, and cooperative healthcare system in the new era.
